Judy Perrin Artist Biography
Judy is a Calgary based artist who loves to explore many different mediums. Her work is diverse, colorful and impressionistic in nature. Judy is self taught and began painting 20 years ago when her children were young. In between raising her two children, she attended art classes and workshops and over time, her own style began to emerge. From funky, colorful florals to dreamy ethereal landscapes, cityscapes, trees and now a crow series, her work continues to change and evolve. Judy has recently added encaustic painting to her repertoire of mediums. Judy was born in Calcutta, India where she lived for two years with her parents and then moved to Calgary, where she spent most of her life. Calgary has always been home base, but Judy travelled to the United States and then to London, England where she completed her Nursing studies. She is currently working as a Hospice nurse and painting in her spare time. Judy is excited about offering painting workshops in the future at the Calgary School of Art and at Terra Cotta Galley in Black Diamond. Judy has also offered corporate workshops using painting as a team building exercise. Her enthusiasm for art and encouraging others to explore their creative side through experimentation with different mediums, is infectious! You CAN paint outside the lines! Her motto is in life and in her painting is, "Feel the fear and do it anyway"! Judy's work is currently hanging in Terra Cotta Gallery. Her work has also been shown at The Calgary Stampede Art Auction ,The Magnolia Gallery, Cumberland, B.C. and has travelled as far as Germany. |
