Rex Beanland Artist Biography Rex began his career as a professional artist 12 years ago. He chose to pursue a self-directed art education, making constant and thorough use of workshops, books, videos, fellow artists and art organizations. He has studied with and been influenced by Stephen Quiller, Brian Atyeo and Mike Svob among others.
Working primarily in watercolour, acrylic and gouache he is known for a bold and imaginative use of colour and value and his work conveys a strong sense of narrative.
He is presently affiliated with the Federation Of Canadian Artists (he is currently Past President), the Calgary Sketch Club and The Leighton Centre.
