Eleanor Lowden Pidgeon Artist Biography

Eleanor began her career as a professional artist 20 years ago living in Ontario.

Eleanor studied fine arts at the University of Western Ontario, and continued her studies in art and watercolor at the Ontario College of Art, the Alberta College of Art and through various workshops to broaden her scope. In 1994 she joined the Toronto Watercolor Society . She became a signature member of the TWS and also volunteered as their publicity chairman until December 1999. Eleanor and her family moved to Alberta in January 2000.

Eleanor is currently a member of the Alberta Society of Artists, as well as the Federation of Canadian Artists.

A large part of her learning comes through teaching art to adults and children. Most recently she has taught the drawing class at the University of Calgary, Certificate Program and teaches “Courageous Watercolor” and acrylic workshops at various venues in Calgary and Alberta.

Eleanor paints in both acrylic and watercolor. Her love of painting is expressed through her bold and beautiful color palette. The fall color in Ontario is a big inspiration to her, and she often travels to the east to photograph and paint.

Her work can be seen at Koyman Galleries in Ottawa, ON, Canvas Gallery in Toronto, Gibson Fine Art in Calgary, AB, Bluerock Gallery in Black Diamond, AB, and Elevation Gallery in Canmore, AB.
