Painting from Life with Ingrid Christensen - Winter Session
Painting from life is one of the most effective ways to improve your art. Without the distortion and simplification of photographs, you can use your eyes to learn
how colour, texture, value and light interact in the real world. And you can use this knowledge to create sensitive works of art.
In this 12 week course, students will paint only from life in an impressionistic
and focused, wet-on-wet manner. They will learn how to simplify complex
subjects, and render them boldly, confidently and with their own unique vision.
Dates: Wednesdays, December 7 to March 21 6 pm to 9 pm
***There will be a 3 week break at Christmas from December 15 to January 9
and a 1 week for the week of January 30 ***
Medium: demonstrations will be in oil but this course is suitable for acrylic
painters as well.
Subject matter will be still life, floral and figurative.
This class is suitable for students with some previous painting experience.
Price: $360 +GST
There will be an additional charge for between 2 to 4 model classes.
The amount will depend upon the number of students that we have but,
is normally between $5 and $7 per class.
