For those who are unclear as to what 'Abstract' art is, I would have to say that it is widely open for interpretation. What happens in class depends greatly on which direction you would like to take your art. As an instructor, I am there to show you techniques, give advice and try to get you to think outside the box. I believe that the artwork that is most beautiful is not necessarily the painting that mimics real life, but is the painting that emulates moods, tells a story or is simply just fun to create.

Class participants have freedom to work on what they like although projects will be at hand. I am host to a class that is extremely laid back and experimental. I believe that whether a student is a novice or beginner, everyone can feed off one another by discussing their own ideas and techniques if they choose. Although the majority of students use oil paints and acrylics within the class, other mediums are greatly encouraged...i.e.: pastels, watercolours, charcoal, ink, oil sticks.. together we can create collages, photo montages, 3D pieces, drawings or canvas works.
